Lucas Liang

Lucas’ passion for the thoroughbred industry came from when he was a child, growing up immersed in racing. He attended the University of New South Wales and graduated with a degree in Commerce with a major in Actuarial Studies. He remembers attending the nearby Inglis sales whilst at university, where he witnessed Hong Kong Champion Able Friend go through the ring, purchased by John Moore before beginning his career in Hong Kong.

Lucas’ favourite racing memory is watching Able Friend progress throughout his career and following him as he won each of his five Group Ones. He particularly enjoyed watching him win the 2014 Hong Kong Mile, after which he earned the position of the highest internationally rated Hong Kong racehorse ever.

Lucas has over ten years of experience in thoroughbred breeding, auctioneering and racing. He offers a profound understanding of the industry’s global markets, particularly in the Asian region.
