Aushorse is the marketing body of the Australian thoroughbred industry. We proudly promote Australia as the leading source of high-quality thoroughbreds worldwide and the pre-eminent country to invest and race in.
Our aim is to encourage investment from overseas, whether to race or breed in Australia or export to another country; domestically we have an important role to play in introducing new owners to the fun and excitement of racehorse ownership.
We are an independent, not-for-profit company, and are committed to providing impartial advice and assistance.
As with our sister organisation, Thoroughbred Breeders Australia, we are funded by breeders through a small levy on all horses sold at public auction by Inglis and Magic Millions.

Aushorse’s annual Investor’s Guide spells out the reasons why Australia is the best country in the world to breed, race or invest in. Our industry is truly unique: there are more racecourses and racehorse owners in Australia than any other nation, and our major tracks are in the heart of the biggest cities, creating huge engagement.
Plus, we are supported by a funding model that provides incredible prizemoney: there is a race worth a million dollars or more every 3.5 days.

Showcasing Australia
Our annual magazine showcases many of the best stories from Australian racing and breeding. The latest edition – featuring the 2023 Everest winner Think About It on the cover – includes stories on superstar mare Imperatriz, the legacy of Royal Ascot pioneer Choisir, as well as a profile on prominent owner and breeder Peter Walsh.
